Uma Avaliação dos conhecimentos e crenças associados ao Transtorno de Déficit de Atenção e Hiperatividade (TDAH)

Introdução: O artigo apresenta como foco de pesquisa avaliar o conhecimento da população em geral, na faixa etária de 21 a 50 anos, sobre o Transtorno de Déficit de Atenção e Hiperatividade (TDAH) e analisar os estereótipos que a sociedade cria e reproduz sobre o transtorno. Métodos: 400 indivíduos, responderam de maneira online, o questionário de Conhecimento e Crenças sobre o TDAH aplicado por KOS et al. (2004). Discussão: esse questionário foi utilizado de forma modificada, para se adequar a amostra de população diferente. Essas respostas foram investigadas, a partir da análise categorial de conteúdo de Bardin (2011) e relacionadas com os dados sociodemográficos dos participantes. Resultados: todos os entrevistados relataram algumas crenças não respaldadas cientificamente, que podem influenciar para diagnóstico e tratamento inadequados, e perpetuar os estigmas e preconceitos sobre os indivíduos portadores desse transtorno.
