Abstract

Introduction: Increasing the awareness of physicians about the need to use evidence in clinical practice is fundamental for scientific development. Thus, medical research is essential to determine conduct and produce reliable content, and this should be encouraged since graduation. In this context, a mini-course of research was carried out, aiming to teach health academics the main aspects of scientific research and its importance in training and professional life. Report: This is an experience report from the mini-course that addressed the points: the step by step for the elaboration of the most relevant research categories; main tools to assist in scientific production; and the panorama of research in Brazil. The mini-course consisted of four meetings and nine classes, with the participation of specialists from each theme, addressing the issues cited. It was sought to elucidate the main doubts of the academics in relation to the proposed themes and the research within the graduation, mainly in the medical area. Discussion: In view of the current pandemic scenario, higher education courses had to adapt to the remote education model, which despite the limitations, allowed for increased access to scientific knowledge. Such characteristics proved to be beneficial to the academic events developed during the pandemic, including the short course presented here. These aspects, together with the approach to the essential points of scientific production, are relevant in medical training, given the need for constant development of technical content, both for the conclusion of the course and for the presentation of a quality curriculum. Conclusion:Scientific development is essential, and the Mini Research Course offers this content in a clear and accessible way. The event elucidates the relevance of the theme, therefore, actions like this should be stimulated, in order to train students in the scientific environment.
