INTRODUCTION: In recent decades, we have been undergoing a process of population aging. Given this context and the families' negligence towards the elderly, Long-Term Care Institutions have emerged, which are considered a major challenge in society, as they are simultaneously seen as shelters for the elderly, but on the other hand, represent negative changes in their daily lives, routines, and health, whether physical or mental. In this context, Integrative and Complementary Practices (ICPs) arise as a way to enhance the well-being of institutionalized elderly individuals, providing improvements in physical, social, mental, emotional, and spiritual health. OBJECTIVE: To address the relationship between Integrative and Complementary Health Practices (ICHPs) in promoting the well-being and quality of life of institutionalized elderly individuals. REPORT: A health intervention was carried out in a Long-Term Institution aimed at the elderly, which involved 21 elderly people, 5 local IFMSA coordinators, the Institution's physiotherapist and some caregivers. Moments with art therapy, music therapy and aromatherapy were used, with lavender essential oil, for relaxation and connection with the participants. CONCLUSION: It can be concluded that the initiative was successful in addressing Integrative and Complementary Health Practices (ICHPs) in promoting the quality of life of institutionalized elderly individuals. The initiative provided moments of acceptance, relaxation, and reconnection, establishing itself as a relevant step in promoting the well-being of this population in long-term care institutions.
