In order to bring together university students in the health area and individuals who are homeless or in need, the event The Street Store was promoted. This project brought together approximately 120 academics from various courses of the Health Sciences Center (CCS) of an academic institute, and allowed, in addition to the education of volunteers in relation to human vulnerabilities, access to health and social inclusion by the population served. Following the necessary health measures (social distancing, use of masks, alcohol gel, cleaning surfaces, scheduling between participants), the activity had two sectors: one for “purchasing” clothes and the other for health. In the first, the people served were able to choose pieces of clothing at zero cost, while in the second sector, they could have their blood pressure measured, glycemic index checked, oxygen saturation evaluated, learning effective hand washing and teeth brushing techniques, were able to bathe, get manicures, pedicures and receiving personal hygiene kits. The action took place in a charity house that serves homeless people and more than 100 socially disadvantaged families in the region. The project's objectives were successfully achieved, considering the intervention provided multidisciplinary and humanised education to the volunteers, in addition to guaranteeing technical and human assistance, social inclusion and minimum living conditions to populations that are daily neglected.
