Introduction: First aid can be the difference between life and death in some situations, but little knowledge about its techniques can discourage or disqualify the population from practicing this care. Exposure to new risks in the context of social isolation during the pandemic highlights the need for a new and updated approach to the topic. With this in mind, the activity “E agora José? O que fazer na hora do desespero”, from which this experience report is based. Experience report: This report is based on the experiences of the activity “What now, José? What to do in time of despair?”, which took place on April 22, 23 and 24, through lectures broadcast on Youtube, with 569 entries made through the Even3 platform. Discussion: The context of many accidents in Brazil, the high mortality from external causes and the longer time at home due to the pandemic highlight the importance of holding a first-aid event. The activity hypothesized possible scenarios of emergency situations and forms of intervention were presented, in addition to emphasizing the importance of calling the specialized emergency service. The high adherence to the event and the participation of subscribers through comments and/questions via the chat evidenced the success and importance of the activity on the subject. Conclusion: Despite the limitations imposed by social distancing, the activity fulfilled its objective by reaching diverse people from different occupation areas. It presented valuable information for pre-hospital care, especially in the context of the new Coronavirus pandemic, SARS-CoV-2.
