Introduction. Access to contraceptive methods is a fundamental right that gives women autonomy in relation to their reproductive choices, but numerous factors imply the choice of which one to use and the time it will take when a specific procedure is necessary. As a result, there was a need to reduce the queues for copper Intrauterine Devices (IUDs), based on an academic training campaign for the insertion of this device. Thus, the purpose of this report is to describe the experiences that took place in this event, in order to encourage other similar campaigns to take place. Experience report. This report was based on experiences that took place at the Basic Health Unit (BHU), on March 13, 17, 20 and 24, 2023 during the “Campanha Diu-se”, in which 18 academics participated. Discussion. The "Campanha Diu-se" aimed to reduce the queue of women who were waiting for the insertion of the IUD, in addition to training medical students to perform the procedure. The insertion practice was performed in papaya, with the help of doctors and trained residents. The action had a great impact on society, as the queue ended. Conclusion. From this, one can see how important campaigns like this are, as the women who were in the queue had a shorter wait time for the insertion of the IUD, which prevents unwanted pregnancies from occurring and, on the other hand, the students had the opportunity to train. Finally, it is necessary that campaigns continue to be carried out to promote women's sexual and reproductive health.
